Sunrise Pools and Spa Story & Valued Partners

Nathan Kramer and Amanda Truitt, Sunrise Pools & Spas owners, are beginning another chapter in life together. Though new business owners, they are far from new to the pool and spa industry... I don't think I can do "third person" any longer...

Amanda and I met once upon a time ago in high school. After graduating, Amanda decided to join the United States Air Force as a linguist. I chose the college path and attended Christopher Newport University and The Apprentice School at the shipyard. Through the years, Amanda and I remained in contact with each other. In 2012, Amanda was stationed in Augusta, GA, where we decided to meet up finally. What was supposed to be a weekend trip turned into, "Hey, Dad, I'm moving to GA!"

A few months after the big move, I began to work for a pool and spa company located in Evans, GA as a retail sales associate. I remember the owner had an interesting way of teaching water chemistry, "Yup - I've got the fancy machine to give you the answers; however until you can balance water without the machine - you can't use it!" I took it as a challenge, and within two weeks, I was using his stupid machine. That small push is all I needed to make me want to learn every aspect of the industry. From that point, the pool and spa industry sucked me in. In the years to come, I learned how to sell hot tubs and repair them. I became a service technician, where I learned about all the different types of pool systems.

In 2018 (now married), Amanda and I decided it was time to move back home to be closer to our families. After moving back home, I was selected to become a Service Manager for a pool and spa company. I was challenged in ways I could not have imagined. I quickly learned why it is important to surround yourself with good, reliable people. In 2019, I brought Amanda (medically retired from the USAF) on board as a Service Advisor. (I may be partial here - but hands down my best hire!)

Turns out that Amanda was an absolute anomaly! Within the first couple of months, Amanda was completely fluent in the pool and spa service world. Amanda listens to her customers and is able to diagnose most things right over the phone - especially when it comes to hot tubs! Amanda is what you would consider a "Spa Guru” and has even conducted spa training for new and veteran technicians to pass along her wealth of knowledge.

In 2022, Amanda was offered to become their Service Office Manager, overseeing the service schedule, ordering parts for the technicians, answering incoming phone calls, etc. I was offered to become General Manager, overseeing the entire Service Department, Retail Department, and Hot Tub Sales.

Amanda and I share the same passion for the industry but, most importantly, our customers. We love having the ability to help someone through their pool and hot tub problems. Too often than not, we have heard terms like, "Oh well - it's just a pool/hot tub." Sunrise Pools and Spas were created on the idea that our customers are creating summertime memories that will last a lifetime. Besides - where else can you get away with slapping your brother or sister in the face with a pool noodle??

Our goal is to develop long-term relationships with our customers by offering transparent communications, exceeding all expectations, and prioritizing the needs/wants of each of our customers.
